After the one woman he's ever loved gets engaged to another man, Blake London decides it's time for a change.

Leaving his respected position as a cardiologist at Mayo Clinic, Blake settles in Boston alongside his NFL-playing brother and surgery-performing sister. The move is good for him; his new job is tolerable enough, and he's significantly reduced the number of times his brain wanders to a certain doctor by the name of Delaney Delacroix.

Until, of course, she shows up in Boston, too.

Delaney Delacroix's fiance has fallen in love with another woman.

Considering love was never part of their arrangement, Delaney isn't really upset about it. In fact, she's happy for him. But it does mean she can't access her inheritance until finding a replacement husband, and her dreams of founding her own heart clinic for patients with Down Syndrome, like her brother, need to be put on hold.

With her engagement off, Delaney moves closer to home on the East coast, only to reunite with her former colleague and long-time med school friend, Blake London. He's the last person she expects to see, but it isn't any more surprising than what happens when he learns about the true nature of her former–and now broken–engagement: he promptly proposes to fill the role. 

But there's a reason Delaney never mentioned the marriage clause in her inheritance to her friend before. Simply put, she isn't sure she can survive a year being married to Blake London, especially not when that year involves things like a steamy fake honeymoon.

At least, not without falling in love with him.
